The size of the paddle is 3 feet long and 5 3/4 to 6 in. depth at the blade. The blank paddles are made by a Wisconsin craftsman out of either aspen or basswood (basswood is not always available). Both woods are almost identical in appearance. Paddles are a bit more pricey because I pay more for the blanks.
I usually do a paddle oriented hosizontal. It is possible to do one oriented vertical, with the grip up and the blade down. Normally I woodburn the "family name" on the long shaft. You can let me know. It is also possible to make the paddle so that the blade faces right on the wall or left on the wall. Let me know by e-mail if you prefer one or the other directions.

One woodburned picture looks best on the paddle. You may have, also, a very small woodburned picture on the grip. For example, one might put a bass on the blade and a loon on the grip. Otherwise, I will woodburn a hoof or paw print, a feather, or a fishing lure on the grip. We will get it all arranged by e-mail after you order.
